RECON’S Automatic Voltage Stabilizers are Auto Wound Transformers having helical coils mounted on a conventional laminated core. Carbon Rollers assembled on a fiber glass carrier board traverse the length of the Coil Track. These rollers are electrically connected to the output terminals and as they are driven over the track, a variable voltage is obtained.
Beneath the regulating coil a number of compensating winding are connected in parallel and short circuited to reduce the effect of core-flux ‘fringing’ and keeps the reactance of the regulator fairly constant at any position of the rolling contact.
The variations of more than ± 1% of the rated output voltage of the stabilizers are sensed through solid state relay which sends signals to the controlling servo motor which further drives the roller mechanism in such a direction so as to increase or decrease the voltage and stabilize it to the rated output voltage. Solid State Relay operates on 230 V, 1Ø supply.
L.T. Automatic Voltage Stabilizers holds its potential for units having either L.T. Supply or Low capacity H.T. Connections. The same can be manufactured for Balanced Supply and Unbalanced Loads or Unbalanced Supply and Unbalanced Loads.
The range of input supply which the stabilizer is designed for depends upon the voltage condition at the supply point. However some standard ranges for L.T. Stabilizers are as under
Input Voltage Range
300V - 460V
340V - 460V
360V - 460V
Output Voltage
400/415 ±1%
ADVANTAGES
Prolonged coil life (15-20 years) under normal working conditions, due to robust winding.
The graphite rollers roll, while sliding on the coil track, so contact point of the roller goes on changing which prolongs the life of the rollers.
Without lifting the complete assembly, the rollers can be inspected / replaced by opening the top cover only.
Can be manufactured for both indoor and outdoor installation.
